About

A Preface

There are a lot of reasons that you may have ended up here on this website, trying to figure out if I am the right therapist for you. If you are like most of my clients, you’ve probably spent some time searching through different therapists profiles, trying to figure out who is going to be able to help you and determining if you think you will feel safe enough to share your most vulnerable parts with a stranger, albeit a well-qualified one. Its almost as nerve-wracking as a dating website or searching through tinder profiles. But, before you make a decision on whether you are going to swipe right or not, let me tell you a little bit about the types of clients I have the most success in helping. To be blunt about it, I want to work with clients that want to make a change in their lives, and that are ready to work hard for it. Therapy can be a lot like personal training–I’m not going to make you run laps and do burpees (probably), but I am going to push you into places beyond your comfort level if it will help you live life well.

I take a special interest in helping couples with a variety of difficulties. I tell people that I work with the “in” problems. That is, infidelity, infertility, in-laws, or in-love concerns. More simply, I can help with conflict resolution, communication, family dynamics, and sexual relationships. Whether I work with you alone, or with you and your partner, I have a stance that you are the expert on your life, and I am the expert on people and relationships. Therapy is a collaborative effort, and with our forces combined, I want to help you get to a place where is are thriving instead of just surviving.

My clients are diverse. I work with people that are straight and LGBTQ+, and vary on the spectrum of religiosity and spirituality. I believe that feeling respected and safe is a key to making our therapeutic relationship successful.
